AOS Faculty Member Jamie Powell participates in a group show at Marietta College. The Marietta College Department of Art is pleased to present the second exhibition to be held in Gallery 310, “Making Flippy Floppy,” a solo exhibition by NYC artist and 2001 Art Department alumnae, Jamie Powell ’01. Her work is rooted in the rich American history of abstract painting with a contemporary sensibility. She has exhibited extensively in the U.S., including FLUXspace in Philadelphia, The National Arts Club in New York City, Parallel Art Space in Queens and Soil Art Gallery in Seattle.
She describes her work as culled from popular culture, cartoons and nightmares where she combines color and imagery to form a personal system of ambitious recognition and recollection.
